VITALIA Active Adult Community®– Montrose Celebrates National Nurses Week

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year. The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896.

At VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Montrose Copley, OH our regionals LaShawn and Rebecca have been a huge help in the community. They are always willing to lend a hand and they always have the resident and staff members’ best interest at heart. They are always willing to jump in to help and take that late night phone call. Judy Lahmann is our interim Director of Wellness.

Families love Judy’s energy, and they say they can feel how much she cares for their loved ones.

Residents speak highly of the wellness team, knowing they truly care about them. I often hear how friendly and helpful they are.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic the team never voiced a complaint during the time of active cases within the community. They were always compassionate and made sure the residents were safe, both physically and mentally.

I want to give an extra shoutout to Nurse Judy who has really helped us a lot by taking on more responsibility by filling the Director of Wellness position. Although part-time she has taken on a full-time role until we can hire a new Director of Wellness.

I will be recognizing my nurses during National Nurses Week by telling them that we appreciate them. A thank you message is also being sent to tell wellness how much they are appreciated.
