VITALIA Active Adult Community®- Montrose Plant Operations Allows No Slip Ups With Building Safety

Building Safety Month takes place in May every year and is internationally recognized for raising awareness in keeping buildings safe. 

This initiative unites industries, associations, academia, and government under a common goal to protect the public by creating a safe and resilient environment. Our primary focus as the Plant Operations Team at VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Montrose Copley, OH is keeping our residents, visitors, and staff safe.

There are many tasks to be performed to safeguard our community. Here at Montrose we take pride in the safety of building and residents. Our housekeeping team always uses wet floor signs when mopping. Plant operations always use placards on residents’ doors when we enter their rooms when they are not at home, to let the resident know a maintenance technician is in their apartment. We do not want them to be alarmed.

My role as Plant Operations Director at Montrose is awesome. It includes both building maintenance and providing resident and staff safety. Fire safety is a good example. We make sure all fire equipment is working properly and run drills regularly. I am proud of the staff that take every drill seriously.

At home I make sure all the smoke detectors are functioning properly and also go over safety routes in case of fire. Building safety is important at home, just like at work.
