Vitalia Active Adult Community – Montrose Recognizes National Assisted Living Week

Established by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, National Assisted Living Week® recognizes the role of assisted living in America while providing a unique opportunity for residents, their loved ones, staff, volunteers, and the surrounding communities to recognize the role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance encourages assisted living communities around the country to celebrate the individuals they serve while simultaneously educating members of the public about what assisted living truly looks like.

This year, VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Montrose is celebrating the 2022 theme of “joyful moments” from September 11^th to September 17^th by recognizing how each department plays a role in creating joy for our residents and staff members. ​​​​​​​​​​​ ​

I have always enjoyed representing others who may have difficulty representing themselves. As a leader of a senior living community, I am able to do so. I started my career in healthcare as a Home Health Aid taking care of quadriplegics. I believe that gave me a great understanding of what it means to truly care for an individual’s needs.

The VITALIA® – Montrose team creates joyful moments in our community by creating meaningful connections with our residents and their teammates. Our staff are our greatest representatives of true customer service, and their actions make a huge impact every day. They provide quality hands-on care, prepare fantastic meals, ensure a clean and safe environment, and respond with timely feedback on concerns. We strive to create an experience that is remembered and dynamic.

One of our residents said the most joyful thing about living at VITALIA Active Adult Community® – Montrose is, “having games and events with my friends, along with daily meaningful social interactions.” Happy Hours are a big deal here and they really enjoy going to them.

We plan to make National Assisted Living Week special in our community by recognizing our staff with a nice lunch event. We will provide food and games, including opportunities to win prizes.
