Every year Arrow’s personal and professional development coach, Michael Buckley, asks everyone to pick a “Word of the Year.” The goal is to look inward and consider what we each need more of and what might improve our lives. Sometimes we need more focus or clarity. Sometimes we need more compassion. Sometimes we just need more fun!
Picking a word for both me and my community is a commitment to doing work on yourself and the “we” and “us” work we want to do as a community.
Looking back on 2022, Montrose had a fantastic year of growth, not only in the number of amazing residents who joined our community, but also the addition of so many great employees. We also are so excited for the growth of the community with the addition of our Villas known as The V.
Now, looking forward to 2023, what Vitalia Active Adult Community – Montrose needs is persistence. Like the saying goes “Persistence is Key.” Comfort is the death of customer service. Montrose must stay focused and persistent in our drive to provide top quality services and amenities for our residents, families, and employees.
We plan to weave persistence into the daily operations of the community by setting goals and reviewing the large factor of staying focused on what we need to achieve. Montrose cannot be average or okay, we need to be the best.
As for myself, I have chosen the word achievement for 2023. The goals are set. It is time to execute and concur.
What is YOUR WORD? I hope you will pick one too. What does your life need a little more of in 2023? What does “future you” thank you for working on now? Our words are meant to inspire us. If it is not inspiring, it’s not the right word.
And if you are reading this, please hold us accountable. When you visit Vitalia Active Adult Community – Montrose or come to town hall, ask us what our word of the year is and what have we done to support it.
Please look forward to the December 2023 blog where we tell you all the ways we lived in line with our word of the year and all the ways it helped improve our community.

Did you know “The Twelve Days of Christmas” is quite a unique song? Besides the fact the singer’s true love gives a lot of very bird-heavy gifts, it has a long and interesting history. The first written documentation of the song was in an English children’s book from 1780 titled Mirth With-Out Mischief and the […]
